Examination Results 2023
At Pinehurst we teach Cambridge from Year 1 to 13 because it works for every student, supporting and challenging within a robust framework. It supports teachers and is consistent in its high standards; it is very well-resourced; and it offers a balance between skills, knowledge and understanding. In Year 12 and 13, it is excellent preparation for university and for other future pathways.
Pinehurst School students take Cambridge external examinations in five different year levels. For most students, it works like this:
- In Year 6, the last year of Primary School, students take Checkpoint examinations in English, Mathematics and Science.
- In Year 9, students take Checkpoint examinations in English, Mathematics and Science.
- In Year 11, students take IGCSE examinations in English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and six or seven other subjects.
- In Year 12, students take AS Level examinations in English Language or English Literature and 3 or 4 other subjects.
- In Year 13, students take A Level or AS Level examinations in four or five subjects.
One again, our students achieved outstanding results, sustaining our place as one of New Zealand’s strongest academic schools.
