National Primary Chess Champions!

It began with 26 teams from different schools competing at the North Shore Inter-School Primary Chess tournament in June. Pinehurst A team placed in the top two teams and went onto the Auckland Regional Championships where they played Cockle Bay, Kaurilands, Marshall Laing and Papatoetoe Central and were undefeated in all their games.  Then came the National Championships held in Mt Maunganui at the end of September where the boys: Ryan Fan, Kendrick Zhang, Felix Xie, Allen Weng and Nicholas Xu, did brilliantly, topping the results table of 24 schools and coming away as the champions for 2018!
