Mairangi Bay Art Centre “Artrageous” Secondary Schools Art Exhibition

Pinehurst School has exhibited the Senior College Art and Photography work at the Mairangi Bay Art Centre. The work is part of the ‘Artrageous’ Secondary Schools Exhibition which most schools on the North Shore have participated in. Year 13 student Chloe Zhang (pictured left) earned a high merit entry annouced on opening night. The competition judges are well known: Benjamin Abdale-Weir, the Collection Manager at Auckland War Memorial Museum, and former Collections Manager and exhibition coordinator for Pah Homestead Gallery, Wallace Arts Trust. Benjamin Abdale-Weir holds an MA in Art History and has substantial experience in collections management and curating. Also Simon Bowerbank, Founder and Director of Bowerbank Ninow, Auckland. Prior to starting Bowerbank Ninow, Simon spent several years representing esteemed NZ artists such as David Cauchi, Suji Park, Yvonne Tod, Peter Madden Bill Hammond, and Francis Upritchard, as Gallery Manager for Ivan Anthony. He also has several years experience as the Fine Art Specialist for Mossgreen Webb’s – NZ’s premier auction house.

The exhibition will continue to be open to the public free of charge for the rest of the week until 2pm on Sunday 6 August.
