Year 7 Camp

Early in the first term of each new school year the Year 7 students and teachers attend camp. We travel by bus to Narrows Park which is between Cambridge and Hamilton.
During the week we undertake a variety of challenging and fun activities including downhill trolleys, BMX biking, archery, orienteering, paintball and air rifle shooting. Each day a group of students leave the site for a Day Adventure involving kayaking down the Waikato River and spending the day on a high ropes and rock climbing course. We also have full use of an on-site swimming pool and a waterslide. Our evening programme includes a Trash to Fashion event, Night Frights on the Burma Trail, Outside Challenge Games and a Talent Show for the students, parents and teachers.

All activities are taken by fully trained staff at each venue. To meet safety ratios, parents and teachers are required to assist and are fully briefed prior to each activity.

The aims and objectives of the Year 7 Camp experience are as follows
• To develop independence
• To develop inter-personal skills and strengthen relationships with peers
• To use skills and intelligences to meet physical and emotional challenges
