Pinehurst believes strongly in the value of Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC). School camps are part of the extensive education programme provided at Pinehurst and are compulsory for Year 3 – 10 students.
All Year 10 students take part in The Young New Zealanders’ Challenge at Bronze level. This is also known as The Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award, an International Youth Development Programme operating in more than 120 countries.
Camps for Year 11 – 13 students are also operated in conjunction with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award Scheme or through Leadership Camps. This challenging programme sees many students choosing to continue working towards their Silver and Gold awards throughout their College years.
